Being pregnant with your first child is one of the most exciting times in your life. It can also be somewhat stressful. There are so many different products to buy, so many things to think about — your childbirth options, whether you want to hire a doula or baby nurse, what products are really necessary to have when baby arrives, what to register for, how many nursing bras to buy, what to look for in a pediatrician…the list goes on and on.

Well, soon-to-be mamas and papas, babybites Brooklyn is here to help!

We have put together an awesome panel of Brooklyn’s In-The-Know Moms who are going to answer ALL of your questions and tell you what you really need to know on every topic that’s on your mind right now, including, but not limited to:

• your delivery/birth options (what to really expect)
• baby doulas, nurses, postpartum doulas (what they do, how much they cost, how to find one)
• best brooklyn resources for new parents (lactation consultants, pediatricians, daycares etc.)
• products products products (what to buy, what not to buy, what each product is for, where to get them)
• childcare options (the lowdown on nannies & daycare)
• breastfeeding tips (including advice on buying bottles, pacis, pumps, nursing bras, etc.)
• and more!

There’s so much to talk about, but since we’ll only have an hour and a half, we will be sure to poll the room so that we cover the topics that are most important to YOU!

And that’s not all.

Every mom in attendance will take home a special gift from Avent AND a comprehensive resource list that contains tons of valuable information for new parents, authored by one of our esteemed panelists, Karen Connell of A Child Grows in Brooklyn.

Karen Connell is the founder and editor of the blog A Child Grows in Brooklyn, an amazing resource for Brooklyn parents (which you should all check out!)

Jada Shapiro is a doula and the co-founder of Birth Day Presence, which provides birth and postpartum doulas, childbirth education and professional birth photography to expectant and new families.

Chana Balk is the owner/founder of babybites Brooklyn, a company that hosts social and educational events for expectant & new parents in Brooklyn.  She is also obtaining her certification in pre/postnatal fitness and is starting a fitness program for moms called Move It Momma.

Join us for this very special event with lactation consultant Andrea Syms-Brown, IBCLC, RLC, CIMI, of Baby in the Family, who has over 20 years experience supporting breastfeeding mothers and their babies.

You will learn techniques for:

• latching-on
• positioning and holds
• eliminating discomfort
• increasing milk supply
• and more!

Andrea will tell you everything you need to know to ensure that you get off to the best start possible!

In addition to learning essential tips about breastfeeding, you will:

• meet and connect with other soon-to-be moms
